Andras Jones is best known for his roles in such films as Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, Far From Home, and more recently The Attic Expeditions, but also is an independent rock star of the Previous. Admire him for his films, admire him for his music, Andras is a very talented person either way. Just having the opportunity to interview this great man was an honor to me.

A more recent publicity photo of Andras Q: How did you begin an acting career?
A: I moved to LA when I graduated from high school and got very, very lucky. I met a manager in a buffet line at Wally Ward's wedding and she got me an agent, and within months I was making film history in a film called "The Imp" which was later given a significantly longer title.

Q: What was it like working on "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master?" Were the cast and crew nice to work with?
A: There was a generally good feeling on the set. All the kids got along pretty well. Me and Tuesday were "getting together" and I think that disturbed Renny, who had similar designs on Ms. Knight. My memories of the cast are all actually very good. I wonder what those folks are up to?

Andras hides out with LinneaQ: Another one of my favorite films you've been in has to be "Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama." That must've been a very fun film to work on... What was the cast and crew like, along with the shooting times and such?
A: Slimeball was my first lead in anything and I loved it. The hours were dreadful. The accomodations lackluster, and the general attitude of the production team was one of mercenary cynicism. In that regard, not altogether different from the Nightmare production team. They just didn't seem to care if it was good. Speed and economy were the guiding motivations but the cast were funny (hal havins and buck flower), gorgeous (Michelle Bauer and Robin Stille), and legendary (Linnea and Brinke Stevens), and I was making $50 bucks a day to get chased around by zombies and eat free donuts. I was a happy boy.

Q: What are your views on Robin Stille/Rochelle's (Babs of "Sorority Babes") 1996 suicide?
A: My views? Um...it's tragic. What else is there to say? I had a big crush on her while we were filming. She struck me as a woman slightly out of time. The movie business is tough on women. I have no idea why she would kill herself but I suppose she had her reasons.

Andras puts Babs to flamesQ: What was it like working with scream queens Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, and Michelle Bauer on "Sorority Babes?"
A: Linnea and I got to be pretty good buddies during the filming, and Brinke was always very sweet and encouraging. Michelle...well...what can I say? I was a healthy 18 year old hopped up on coffee and sugar. It's OK to have crushes on two B-movie goddesses at once right?

Q: What is your favorite film role or piece of work you've done?
A: I honestly have to say that my upcoming film "The Attic Expeditions" is my best work and, more than that, is the smartest, funniest, weirdest, and most subversive film by far that I have been in. There is an awesome cast including, Seth Green, Jeffrey Combs, Ted Raimie, Wendy Robie, and Alice Cooper, who are all really excellent, but the best part is that the director (jeremy Kasten) and the writer (Rogan Marshall) really made a film to amuse themselves and their cleverest friends and I think that is what makes it so good to have been involved in.

Q: How did you make a transition from acting to music? How was The Previous formed?
A: There was never any transition. The music is what I do all the time. The films are wonderful adventures that happen to me, and they help to fund my obscure music career, but they really do not recquire much of me, and when they do that only feeds the engine that drives my music. Acting is my day job, and I love it. Music is my calling and I am devoted to it.

The Previous were formed in 1989.

Andras and Linnea take a break from fighting off zombiesQ: What are some of the things you do in your free time (hobbies, etc.)?
A: There is no free time for a true indie rocker. Just keep moving.

Q: What do you enjoy doing more: acting or music?
A: see answer 7

Q: What are some of your favorite movies or music?
A: Music - The Who, Harry Nilsson, Tom Lehrer, Nick Lowe, They Might Be Giants, and about a hundred bands that put out there own CD's that nobody has ever heard of.

Film - Beyond The Valley of The Dolls, Shampoo, The Big Sleep, Superstar, Deconstructing Harry, Bob Roberts, Meet John Doe, The Believer
